Why We Built This Site
North Carolina offers public court access, but the responsible office depends on the record. In Surry County, the Clerk of Superior Court keeps Superior and District Court files and indexes, while North Carolina Portal supplies public Case Summary and hearing-search access. The court calendar, an ordinary copy, a certified order, and an older paper file do not all travel through the same channel. This site organizes those official paths around Surry's unified court structure and its Dobson clerk counter.
What You Will Find Here
The docket pages distinguish criminal and civil case histories, hearing schedules, case lookup, court-record requests, and traffic matters. The city pages explain why Mount Airy, Elkin, Dobson, and Pilot Mountain cases use the state-court pathway rather than a separate municipal court docket.
- Criminal and civil dockets: public case events, court division, and access limits.
- Court schedule: Portal hearing searches and Surry calendar sources.
- Docket search: name, case number, and citation-number routes.
- Court case records: clerk copies, certification, terminals, and public-record boundaries.
What We Cannot Do
This is privately operated reference material, not a Surry County court or government service. The Surry County Clerk of Superior Court and the court divisions, not this site, hold the official file and control court actions.
- We cannot retrieve an official case file or certified court copy.
- We cannot set, change, or confirm a hearing for a specific case.
- We cannot seal, expunge, amend, or otherwise alter a court record.
- We cannot interpret a record as legal advice.
- We cannot guarantee that an outside office's procedures remain unchanged.
Official Surry court records and certified copies must come from the Clerk of Superior Court or the court that maintains the record.
Search Partners
Some content pages display search tools provided by third parties. Those providers operate their own services and pricing. A referral relationship may support this resource when a visitor uses a paid service, but it does not make a third-party result an official Surry court record. Confirm public court information with the originating court or clerk.
